Senior Expert (f/m/d) Sustainable Chemicals

Then come and join our team as Senior Expert (f/m/d) Sustainable Chemicals.

Choose the best place for your work - Within the scope of this position, it is possible, in consultation with your manager, to work mobile (within Germany) up to an average volume of 60% of the respective working hours.
Your tasks and responsibilities:
You drive and continuously improve a global sustainable chemicals program in collaboration with an internal and external network, identifying and implementing strategic opportunities which support the company’s position as a world-leading innovator
You manage a process for impact analysis and risk assessing regulatory updates in all regions, to develop global action plans to address these changes, leading specific chemical-relevant topic related working groups like IVD-Reagents, Hardware
You coordinate compliant implementation across Siemens Healthineers e.g., chemical restrictions, labeling, documentation, and reporting requirements aligned with the Healthineers EHS Management System framework and requirements, for RoHS, REACH, POP etc
You manage the interpretation of legal exemptions and derogations where they are needed and justifiable under the relevant legislation for our business to comply and maintain market access and/or to promote innovation (examples: RoHS, REACH, Prop65 and global equivalents) and prepare exemption renewal or authorization applications where required
You take an active role in trade association working groups in Europe and collaborate with Government Affairs and industry partners in trade networks and represent Siemens Healthineers in front of legislators, NGOs, or other relevant stakeholders, establishing and supporting advocacy plans where relevant
You work with the EcoDesign lead to support the implementation of proactive sustainability measures through business engagement and support with expertise for product design requirements
You support chemical-relevant reporting requirements such as those under CSRD/ESRS
You coordinate compliant implementation across Healthineers e.g., chemical restrictions, labeling, documentation, and reporting requirements aligned with the Siemens Healthineers EHS Management System framework and requirements
You manage the "Center of Competence" (CoC) worldwide as part of a central service offer for Siemens Healthineers, organizing the supplier information about components and critical product ingredients (BoMCheck)
You support responsible experts in IT tooling with chemical compliance expertise

Your qualifications and experience:
You have successfully completed studies in the fi eld of Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Environmental Sciences or comparable; additional quali fi cations in Sustainability is preferred
You have long-term professional experience in monitoring Chemicals policy such as the EU’s Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability, and implementing product related chemicals regulations such as RoHS, REACH, CA Proposition 65, PoP, CLP and in analyzing those regulations against impact, detailed requirements, and ways to comply
You have experiences in developing advocacy plans and position papers and in advocating directly with regulators and authorities, ideally in the EU.
You have profound experience in the chemical/biotechnology same as in the electronics industry, preferably in the (In-Vitro) Medical Device Sector and in leading global teams and initiatives across functions and business areas
Your attributes and skills:
You own it: You are passionate about Sustainability / Environmental Protection with the ability to persuade and engage others by being emphatic, trustworthy, integer and interculturally sensitive
You possess proven analytical and critical thinking skills, creativity, problem solving, and implementation skills as well as a strong skillset for strategy development and deployment
You consistently exhibit a proactive approach with the idea to find solutions that fit the demands of Siemens Healthineers as well as external parties
Your ability to guide and develop cross-functional (virtual) teams and a culture in a dynamic environment, allows you to accompany through change without authority
You have excellent communication skills (target group speci fi c) in English and preferably also in German
