Knowledge for the world of tomorrow.
As a DRM Sales Demand Planner Scientist, you are responsible for evaluating and forecasting the needs of customers, in particular from the retrieval of framework agreements or reseller lists, together with the respective sales staff in the sales countries. This is compared with the capacities of the respective plant, which are to be covered by customer requirements.
What part will you play?
- You develop the requirements together with the various sales organizations or regions for the different products
- You analyze sales data and market/customer behavior to develop accurate demand forecasts. The focus here is on framework agreements or reseller lists
- You collaborate with cross-functional teams to collect market insights, sales data, and customer input for demand planning
- You ensure bi-directional demand matching between distributors and factories
- You develop demand planning models and tools to create forecasts at the customer, country, and regional level. This includes the analysis of market seasonality, trends, promotions as well as new products and product discontinuations
- You use statistical models and simulations to create, apply, and interpret forecasts using time series analysis for rolling forecasts over periods of 3, 6, 12, or 18 months
- You further develop time series analyses into future-oriented forecasts by integrating sales knowledge, with the application of machine learning as a potential approach. Together with the sales staff, you evaluate call-off behavior and identify reasons for deviations
- You conduct regular research to stay current with the latest quantitative methods and forecasting techniques
- You organize regular demand planning meetings and update stakeholders on forecast accuracy, product availability, and potential risks or opportunities
- You develop scenarios and alternative approaches to ensure the achievement of sales targets and plant utilization within the framework of Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP)
- You monitor and measure forecast accuracy, identify the causes of forecast deviations, and implement corrective actions
